We understand that surrendering your pug/s is a very difficult decision to make and one of our Rescue Managers will support and advise you throughout the process of surrendering your pug/s to us.
All cases of rescue and rehoming are dealt with in confidence, without judgement – to do the best for all concerned, especially the pug/s.
If you would like to talk to us about surrendering your pug/s then please get in touch: rescue.nppt@gmail.com
One of our Rescue Managers will then contact you to arrange a call to chat further. During the call we will ask you questions such as the pugs name, age, behaviour, routine etc and answer any questions that you may have for us about the process. We will also forward you our Surrender form to review.
After the initial call we ask you to reflect for 48 hours before making a decision, this is because once you sign the paperwork you sign your pug/s over to the charity and this is a legally binding document.
If you decide to proceed we will ask you to sign and return the Surrender form to us along with a recent picture of your pug/s. We will then work with you to arrange a suitable date and time for your pug/s to come into our care.
We do not ask you to pay us any money to take your pug/s however should they need neutering and you can/want to make a donation to the charity, then we are very grateful of any donation towards the costs.
All pugs go straight into a foster home (we do not use kennels) where they will be assessed by an experienced foster carer so that when the time is right, we can find the very best home for their needs.
Should you wish to receive an update of how your pug/s is doing in foster care then we will be happy to provide this. Our volunteers understand how extremely emotional surrendering can be and this may be a comfort to some, whilst others may need a clean break.
