Re-home a pug

Surrendering a dog can be very emotional, but we're with you every step of the way

Surrendering or re-homing your Pug

We understand that re-homing your pug is a difficult decision, and our Rescue Managers are here to support and guide you throughout the process.

All rescue and rehoming cases are handled confidentially and without judgement. Our priority is always the wellbeing of your pug.

How to Begin

If you are considering surrendering your pug, please complete our re-homing web form.

One of our Rescue Managers will get in touch with you to discuss your situation. We will:

  • Ask about your pug’s name, age, behaviour, and routine.
  • Explain the rehoming process and answer any questions you may have.

Making Your Decision

  • We always ask that you to take time to reflect before making a final decision.
  • Once you have made your decision, you will be asked to sign a form confirming your request for the charity to take over responsibility of your pug.
  • Our rescue manager will then work with you to agree a date for the dog to be collected. We can collect either from your home or from a neutral location.
  • Once the dog has been collected and the paperwork is signed, ownership of your pug is legally transferred to the charity. This cannot be reversed.

What Happens Next?

  • No kennels – All surrendered pugs go directly into a foster home for assessment and care.
  • Our experienced foster carers ensure that when the time is right, we find the best forever home for your pug.

Donations

We do not charge a fee to take in your pug. However, if your pug needs neutering and you would like to contribute towards costs, any donation is greatly appreciated.

Updates on Your Pug

We understand that surrendering can be emotional, and we are happy to provide updates on your pug’s progress in foster care if you wish. However, we also respect that some owners may prefer a clean break.

If you need any further information or support, please get in touch.
